For those of you who have been wondering why I have not been blogging of late, I had to go into Hospital for a major operation on the 31st January. I expected to be on the mend after being discharged home on the 7th February, but unfortunately on my return home, I took a turn for the worse, and was quite ill for well over a week or so. Quite how I would have coped without my lovely daughter I dread to think. She has been nursing me 24/7 throughout the whole time, sleeping next to me to be instantly on call with cleaning me up and I cannot praise her enough.
Her dedication and patience has been extraordinary, and has gone far beyond what anyone could expect a daughter to do when her mother is ill. When she was born, I can remember asking ( in my head) “ Why?” I now know the answer. To give me 150% and more of her caring, her love and infinite patience.
Of course, K being K she wants a new ‘Jaws’ t-shirt to add to her vast collection and also a CD and she will get them and more.
I am now at last on the mend and gaining strength day by day. The operation was a complete success but I will need to have quite a few Chemotherapy sessions just to ‘zap’ those strays and make sure its all eradicated.
The panoramic photo enclosed in this post were taken from our dining area on the ward at night when as usual, TG couldn’t sleep.
TG
was wondering where you were,! So glad to hear you are on the mend and what a fantastic daughter eh? Feel better soon, good to see you here xxx
Thanks Karen. I seem to be now slowly on the mend.
Sandra glad your on the mend, if you need anything just give me a shout whether its taking K for your food shopping or whatever. Sounds like K has been a little star bless her x
She has Jane! She just seems to be in her element when the tables are turned as if its her way of giving back to me all I have given to her in the past through those early days, months and years of hard work I did when she was younger.
Had she not had Down’s and the associated learing difficulties that go with it, she would (I think) have entered the caring profession.
Glad to hear you’re “on the mend” and not surprised by K’s devotion. I would have been astonished if she had done anything else.
Didn’t you know?

I know Cassandra. I am blessed to have a daughter like her.
Am so glad you are feeling better and recovering your health. What a godsend K must have been. I bet a smile from her bought the sunshine every day you felt poorly. Cannot have been easy for her to have her mum dependant on her and she deserves every treat going for being such a good nurse.
I hope you continue to be back on the up, take care.
btw….are you sure the little set back after was not to spend a little longer with all those dishy young doctors!
What dishy young doctors? Well…………actually, there was one young man who came onto the ward who was fantastic looking. Unfortunately, he was looking for one of the other ladies and not me……sigh
TG – wishing you well and a speedy recovery. And glad that K was on hand to help.
So am I Geoff, so am I! My administering angel.
Hi TG
How nice to hear from you, but am so sorry that you have been so unwell, I do so hope that you will soon be returned to full health. I will be sending love, prayers and healing thoughts to you. Hugs Marjie x
Thanks Marjie, I am so grateful. Getting there slowly now I am beginning to eat again.
I had my suspicions ……. very glad all went well ……. well in a way. *Hugs* [but don’t tell my TG!!!!]
I think a ‘Jaws’ t-shirt is well deserved ……… actually I wouldn’t mind one myself.
*Trying very hard not to make you laugh …….. could be painful*
I promise I won’t tell. What size do you want DP? K always likes hers 100 times too big, not that she will wear it, It’ll probably simply join all of her other ‘Jaws t-shirt’ collection in her drawer.
Glad to hear you are pulling through, here’s to mending well TG and with the great caregiver there it surely will(“-“)
forgot to click follow up comments so still getting the hang of this!
Hi TG, I wondered what happened to you. I hope you will have a quick and thorough recovery. I’m not really doing anything on WP, just staying on Blogger: http://gerrya2u.blogspot.com 🙂
Not like me then Gerry, blogs on both………….(clones)
HI there TG, you’ve been in my thoughts, and hopes too for a full and complete recovery…
Bless ‘K’ , she sounds a fantastic nurse to have around you…and you made my eyes water with your stray thought when she was born…Ask not, for the question will be answered…I suppose… and ‘K’ answered it so well…
Hugs to you both…and yes to all of ‘K’s requirements….and bon appetit to you…xx
Thanks Penny. I couldn’t have managed without her. I would have had to dial 999 or something and readmit myself I think.
Glad to hear you’re recovering, TG. All the best to you and your family. And hang in there. Windows Live can’t afford to lose any fans. 🙂
Thanks Greg for your thoughts.
So glad that you’re feeling better and on the mend … a very scary time for both of you I imagine. Thank goodness that you have K to take care of you …. a real blessing in so many ways ..
Thanks Tricia. She has been a Godsend and I wouldn’t swop her for any other daughter in the whole wide world. She is one in a million.
Now that’s a heartwarming post TG, between you getting better, and K’s wonderful unselfish care, it lifts the spirits to read it.
I wish you all the very best I’m sure the zapping will be successful, and K should wear her T shirt with pride, she deserves it. keep on fighting.
Thank you Arlene. I am sure she will wear it with pride.
Hello Sandra, good to know you’re `out’. I had a similar experience 12 years ago, but it was caught early, and just left me slightly less of the woman I was before.
My dear daughter collected me from hospital, not before I had received a request from my spouse to stock up on food on the way home. `I’ll kill him’ said my specialist nurse.
You and K are a great couple, but you know that ;)xx
Mine was a particularly aggressive form Bunny, hence the removal of some lymph nodes and another area. I will be having six sessions of chemiotherapy to eradicate it completely.
This is what happens when you mess up and forget to eat your apple one day. 🙂 I am sorry you are not feeling well. I am praying for you to have a complete and quick recovery. I was once told that smiles are the best medicine. So, I’m sending you and K a generous dose of virtual smiles! Don’t forget to take your medicine!! I am hoping that you get well soon because you are too special to be feeling under the weather.
Hugs to that angel in disguise who answers to the sweet name of K.
I decided to go ahead and “like” this post because it says you are “on the mend” which is a GOOD thing.
BUT
It will take some time, I know. Especially with chemo yet to come.
But you know you are in my prayers (and the prayers of all who love you and visit here) so if there are days when you just don’t feel up to blogging or even commenting–don’t worry.
We understand.
We’re your friends from the Worldwide Web and we are here when you need us.

And, remember:
“Adam Adamant Lives!”
Thanks Cass for you good wishes. Gaining strength and feeling more myself every day.
Why hello there… guess who this is? You guessed it. Just stopping by to wish you a terrific week, hoping that it goes smooth for you.
