Today we went on a shopping trip. To buy youngest son his Christmas present to be exact. We didn’t need or intend to buy anything for ourselves. Just simply meet up with son in Huddersfield, then onto Carphone Warehouse to buy the mobile that he had asked for. Sounds pretty simple doesn’t it? Son was working this morning, so we had arranged to meet up outside Burger King at 11.30am as someone was giving him a lift into Huddersfield. The jaunt began well with me exiting the flat door complete with coat, bag, purse and no shoes on, just in my stocking feet. (foretaste of things to come, or just me going gaga?)
I was dragged out today to Huddersfield (according to the boss, the only town with a HMV shop) for a CD. A CD of the soundtrack from Labyrinth the film. I often catch myself thinking that if I didn’t have K living with me, my life would be so much calmer and quieter. I wouldn’t be traipsing out on these quests for this and that. I would be a lady of leisure, pleasing myself whether I stayed put or not. But……..would I keep as healthy? Or get as much exercise? ‘Children help to keep you young.’ is a very old saying and its true. Okay, K is no longer a child but she does keep you on your toes (literally!) in much the same way.
I do hope that none of you are eating whilst reading this blog. If so, you had better not read the rest of it until you have finished and it has all been thoroughly digested. You see, it includes some horrible pictures of one of my feet. Yes, thankfully you don’t have to suffer the sight of both of them. I wouldn’t wish that on my worst enemy. Besides which I would then loose the only two readers I have. I can just imagine that you are all wondering why I am featuring some pictures of one of my feet? Have I finally flipped? Did I drop my camera whilst snapping something fantastic and it took a snap of my foot as it fell to the floor?
